art in focus - by samarth gupta
Being a self taught painter , I constantly attempt to explore the possibilities to translate human emotions to visual imagery with an attempt to create interest and engage the audience. It is my constant endeavor to anchor my work around the social, political and economic issues through an artistic intervention. This blog , therefore is an attempt to showcase some of my works for reaching to a wider audience.

The Rebel

The following work seeks to rebel against sorrow and depression . The red on the left of the subject holding the trident may not necessarily signify blood and gore but an onset to derive peace and calmness in totality against the ruthless and harsh world. The use of bright red shows opportunity and hope contrary to an obvious representation of bloodshed. Black on the right of the subject signifies loneliness, desolation and despair and is being shown as distant, profound and firm. Overall the artwork is an attempt to reflect the subject's grit & determination to move on and challenge the status quo in the wake of adversity or misfortune.

For Hindus, all creation is divine and hence everything in nature can be seen as God's manifestation . That might explain the appearances of birds, animals, reptiles as God’s incarnations or their mounts in the holy scriptures . The idea of millions of deities in Hinduism is a metaphor for the countless forms by which God makes itself accessible to the human mind . The present composition is a humble attempt to showcase some of those deities in the manifestation of the construction of 'Hinduism'.
